OWLS Adventures > everest-base-camp-trek > Best Time to Visit Everest Base Camp Trek

The best time to visit Everest Base Camp Trek is from March to early May, and September to November. As the winter snow recedes, the trail opens for adventurers in March. The season continues till May.

The trek offers contrasting landscapes across the seasons. Incessant rain in the monsoon season from June to August obstructs the trek to the EBC. The famous EBC trek that takes you to the base camp of the world’s highest mountain remains accessible throughout the year, with monsoon as an exception.

Trekking to Everest Base Camp in the winter months of December to February means bracing for the cold and harsh weather conditions. It becomes challenging to traverse snow-covered trails. Fresh snowfall at higher elevations slows down your journey to the base camp of Everest.

While the autumn months of September to November are the best time to visit Everest Base Camp, spring seasons entice the trekkers with vibrant wildflowers blooming. You can attempt EBC in three different seasons. Each season mesmerises you with its charming appearance.
