Trek cancelled by OWLS

Although cancelling the trek is the last thing we want to do, in special situations where we are forced to cancel the trek such as in the event of natural calamity such as avalanche, snowstorm, flood, thunderstorm, landslide, earthquake or political unrest, local riots, curfews, local health emergencies etc. or any other reason, we promise to refund you 100% of the amount charged for the trek. We will ask you the bank account details for the refund. We will try to refund the entire amount as soon as possible post the confirmation of the cancellation of the trek. However, you may expect the amount in your bank account within 5-7 working days post trek cancellation and confirmation of bank account details.

Trek cancelled by the Customer

Although we would not want you to cancel the trek, we do understand that there may be reasons where the customer has to cancel their booking. In that case, there may be two (2) scenarios as below –

  1. Cancellation upto 30 days before the starting date of the trek – We will charge 10% of the trek amount as cancellation charges and refund the balance amount to the customer without any condition.
  2. Cancellation less than 30 days before the starting date of the trek – Since, we have limited seats on the trek and our expenses would be already committed in advance to ensure the best experience to our customers, it will be unfair to our other customers to increase their costs to meet our expenses. Hence, we will try our best to find a suitable replacement against the cancelled seat.
    • In case OWLS find a replacement – We will process a 100% refund if we are able to find the replacement. We would also urge you to help us find a replacement and we would be happy to transfer your booking to your replacement or make a new booking and refund the old booking.
    • In case OWLS does not find a replacement – In case we are not able to find any replacement before the trek date we would not be able to process any refund as the costs would already be committed by us. However, you will still be eligible to come and be a part of the trek in such a situation.

COVID-19 restrictions related cancellation :

  1. Keeping in mind the unprecedented situation of COVID-19 and the need for social distancing, we have already limited our batch size so that there is no overcrowding. Also, we have taken special cognizance of the fact that the government may introduce lockdown and other restricting measures to keep the pandemic under check. However, we do not want you to keep your plans on the backseat due to the uncertainty.
  2. As such, in case the trek gets cancelled or you are unable to travel and reach the basecamp due to government induced lockdown or other travel restrictions, we have decided to waive off the cancellation charges.
  3. If such a situation arises, you can choose to opt for either of the following two options –
  4. Choose another trek – You can choose another trek with OWLS as per your liking and slot availability on the trek – we will charge/refund you the differential pricing for the trek you choose.
  5. Opt for 100% refund – You can also opt for a 100% refund of the booking amount.
