Pin Bhaba Pass is an exceptional trek that offers stunning and diverse landscapes, making it one of the most dramatic pass-crossing treks in the country. The trek starts with a rocky ascent for 1.6 km, leading to a meadow and waterfall. Another 1.7 km of gradual ascent brings you to a subterranean river, where the water flows beneath the surface. From there, it’s a 1.5 km steep ascent to a meadow with flowers. The campsite is another 1.2 km away, near a stream. There is a lake 200 meters from the campsite, which offers stunning reflections on sunny days. You can set up camp at Karah and have the afternoon to rest.
Today is a shorter trek with only 5 km to cover. The route includes crossing a mountain stream and steep ascent, with a combination of rocky and muddy terrain. Take breaks as needed, as the trek includes several stream crossings and inclines. After 4.20 km, you’ll reach a campsite for lower Phutsirang. Continue climbing for another 700 meters to reach Phutsirang, where you can see three mountain passes: Nimish Khango, Tari Khango, and Pin Bhaba Pass.
Today is a rest day for you to acclimatize. Take a walk through Phutsirang and explore the Tia Valley, which is known for its green landscapes. You will find many beautiful sights to see in this area.”
Hike up a steep incline for approximately 3 km to reach the mountain pass. The pass sits at an altitude of more than 16,000 ft and offers stunning views. After crossing the pass, the trail descends steeply for the first 2 km before reaching a river. From there, the trail becomes more gradual as it winds through moraine and scree, eventually leading to the campsite. The entire journey is an exhilarating experience that tests your endurance and determination.
The trail starts out easy with a 4 km hike, but then becomes more challenging as you descend and walk through the moraine. Along the way, you’ll be treated to a stunning display of changing colors, from lush green to brownish pink.
