Tarsar Marsar Trek Weather in Spring (March to May) 

The spring season starts in Kashmir towards March end when the lower regions of the valley witness the first blooms. The weather during this season is pleasant and has chilly mornings and evenings. In Srinagar city, the temperature ranges from 21⁰C to 7⁰C during spring. 

Tarsar Marsar Lake trek in spring months remains closed. The basecamp Aru Valley’s temperature reaches a minimum of 4⁰C and a maximum of 15⁰C during the spring months. 

The upper reaches sometimes receive snowfall in April, making it difficult to trek to Tarsar Marsar during March and April. 

During the day, Tarsar Marsar temperature is at around 8°C to 14°C and temperature comes down to -4°C to -7°C at night in March and April.

Tarsar Marsar Trek Weather in Monsoon (June to August)

The monsoon months of June to August have the most pleasant weather in Tarsar Marsar. The season marks the beginning of trekking season owing to favourable weather conditions. Kashmir experiences warm days during the season. Expect mild afternoon showers in July and August. 

Tarsar Marsar records a minimum of 5⁰C and a maximum of 15⁰C in June. Tarsar Marsar registers 15°C during the day. Night temperature ranges between 5°C to 3°C. 

The Tarsar Marsar temperature in July ranges between 4°C-18°C. Come prepared with warm layers to keep yourself warm at night. 

As August arrives, Tarsar Marsar temperatures fluctuate between 2°C to 16°C. 

Tarsar Marsar Trek Weather in Autumn (September to November)

Tarsar Marsar Trek boasts of dreamy landscapes of mountains, glacial lakes, and valley covered with vibrant wildflowers.

Autumn in Kashmir is short-lived. It begins in late September when the trees shed leaves. The weather gets chilly and unbearable when Tarsar Marsar season concludes in September. 

As the temperature dips down, the Tarsar Marsar trek closes around mid-September. The higher regions sometimes start receiving snowfall by the end of September, making it difficult to access the trail. 

As September enters, the mercury level drops further, decreasing the temperature in Tarsar Marsar. September temperature ranges between 1°C to 12°C. If you are trekking to Tarsar Marsar in September, don’t forget to carry a minimum of four layers. 

Tarsar Marsar temperature in October is recorded between 0°C to 10°CThe weather is manageable during the day, while the night temperature is always on the lower side. At night, the Tarsar Marsar temperature in October can be sub-zero.

The region receives heavy snowfall in winter, blocking the trek routes during peak winter months. As snowfall intensifies in January, the higher reaches of the valley remain buried in snow. Trekking in Kashmir during the winter months is not suggested. The snow-covered trail and the harsh weather conditions make it dangerous to trek in winter.  

Tarsar Marsar Temperature in December is harsh and extreme as it marks the beginning of winter in the valley. Expect temperatures between -10⁰C to 7⁰C.
